The trek is along the sacred river Bhagirathi right upto the source called Gaumukhi, Literally means Cow's mouth. It passes through the orchards of coniferous pines at chirbase and birch at Bhojbasa, Gangotri and Chaturangini glaciers. Meadow of Tapovan. One could also have the view of peaks Shivling, Bhagirath, Sudarshana, Thelu Kedar Dome and many more.
